Deconstruction and Derrida

Thinking activity on  Deconstruction Here is my task or thinking activity on Derrida and Deconstruction as a part of my academic study. To open the task link click  Here. What is Deconstruction ? Derrida was one of the most widely revered and widely  reviled thinkers of the mid-to-late twentieth Century  Deconstruction is a school of philosophy and literary criticism forged in the writings of the French philosopher Jacques Derrida. Deconstruction can perhaps best be described as a theory of reading which aims to undermine the logic of opposition within Texts. For Derrida this requires a scrutiny of the essential distinctions and conceptual orderings which have been constructed by the dominant tradition of Western philosophy .                                                                          We can not define deconstruction. And that Derrida himself also accepts. It is not a destructive activity but it is for inquiring into the foundation of everything .

What is structuralism?   It is a approach to analysing the narrative Material by examining the underlying invariant structure. This is in fact exactly what structuralism is about structuralist theorist are interested in identifying and analysing the structure that underlie all the cultural phenomenon.  There are many Structuralist critics like  Ferdinand Saussure,  Gerard  Genette , Roland Barthes, Claude Levi-Strauss  etc. Structuralist critics found basic common structure in every work. As all the human beings  have a same structure from inside, similarly literature has basic structure and it is same everywhere whether it movies, TV serials or advertisement etc.   We find basic common structure in every work. And literary work has also common structure like… Starting , Climax and End.. To understand structuralism , we must understand the three word Sign, Signifier, and Signified. Sign – Sound, word signifier– through sign meaning comes & image pop up in mind
