Sunday Reading : Chimamanda Ngozi Adiche

She is also an excellent speaker. Listening her is an amazing experience. There are  her three most popular talks.
1)  The Danger of a single story

2) We should all be feminist

3) Talk on importance of truth in post truth Era

1) The Danger of a single story :

  • In this topic she talked about danger of a single story.
  • In this video she talk about her family, her childhood writing, her view about the literature and also she talked about the danger of reading single story about any place, country and people that you can not judge anyone without any kind of authentication.
  • In this talk, she said that she read and write only about British story and white characters with Blue eyes.
  • First she simpla immitate the things that she read. Bht as soon as her reading grows she started reading about the thing actually she found around her self.
  • We found that she simply speak that the thinks she never found around her she write about that.  This shows the denger of single reading that she wrote the things she never feel.  It also shows the power of colonialism.
  • Though she don't know anything about the life of white people she write about them. The roommate scene also shows thinking of white people about black.

2) We should all be feminist :

  • She wrote a novel about man who among all the things  who beats his wife. One journalist advised her then she called herself a happy feminist. One academic Nigerian lady called her that feminist was not her culture,it was an African culture.
  • She believes this definition of femenist -
A person who believe in the social, political , and economical equality of the sexes.
  • Her own definition is as feminist -
" Yes there a problem with gender as it is today. We must fix it ,We must do better. "
  • She said that people strongly believe woman always give respect man , it is our culture. As type sily thing through join with culture. One more thing sometimes we are protect our culture and liked someone for only protection our culture , so we can't understand what is real means of culture. Human beings make culture no sooner culture make human beings. So she concluded fact is not our culture but culture mean dancing and singing as type things.
  • She talk about black man incident. Its conclusion that Gender and class are different forms of oppression. She actually learned quite a bit about system of oppression . Gender matter men and women experience in the world differently

3) Talk on importance of truth in post truth Era :

  • In the third video about truth in post-truth era, she beautifully said about the courage of speaking truth. Her thought is to be loyal with ourselves to tell the truth. Post truth is very dangerous weapon in this 21st century, especially political parties make use of this kind of weapon to provocate riots and also Media used for profit and to raise their TRP. So. She tries to say that do not driven as sheeple with the political language, try to understand the truth with authentication and always doubt in such a things.
  • She says that most of the time politic force to lie. She also says you must not  tell truth because it's work but after telling truth you can sleep well. She also says that never stop your self to tell truth. Be courageous accept that life is messy. Your life is not always perfectly match with your ideology. She also talk about self doubt and self believe.
