To his coy mistress.

To his coy  mistress :

The poem is a metaphysical poem.  The word metaphysical is mixture of word meta and physical.  The word meta means the beyond and the word physical means the physical limitations. So in this way the word metaphysical means the beyond physical limitations. In this type of poem poet had talks in indicate way.
The poem To his cousin mistress was written by Andrew Marvell.  In this poem he basically talk about the last full man's desire to have relationship with his beloved.  First he tell his beloved that I love your coyness. And in this manner he slowly try to pusses her and say that but later on say that your coyness be good if we have time.
He say her that I can   talk on your beauty for more then the ages. Even my love you more than this   British empire. On the time of Marvell that the sun in British empire will never set. And we see that this is the reason that he compere his love with British empire.
Apart from this he also say that I can do  any thing for you that I can take rubies from Indian ganga site. He say that this all things is possible if we have time.
In last and final stanza he say that   if we don’t make love now we don’t have time to make love. After sometime you will not this much beautiful and also your beauty will not attracted me this much. He also say that when you die your beauty will goes in mud then what’s need of it. So it’s  batter that we make love and leave our life happily.
Structural analysis :
Marvell wrote this poem in the classical tradition of a Latin love elegy, in which the speaker praises his mistress or lover through the motif of carpe diem, or “seize the day.” The poem also reflects the tradition of the erotic blazon, in which a poet constructs elaborate images of his lover’s beauty by carving her body into parts. Its verse form consists of rhymed couplets in iambic tetrameter, proceeding as AA, BB, CC, and so forth.
So in this way we see that the poem is metaphysical poem. And also has different structure then the Normal poems.
